Jami Kalseim Flanagan, CPA
Jami helped found Foley Kalseim & Company Ltd with Bob Foley when they opened the Stillwater office in 1988. Being a Stillwater native, this was the perfect opportunity for Jami to work in her hometown. Bob had left a large CPA firm in the Cities where a loyal client base followed him. Sadly, Bob passed away in 2008, shortly before his planned retirement. “Bob was an incredible business partner. He was an inspirational leader and teacher to his team and clients. His witty sense of humor kept us and his clients from taking things too seriously. As a firm we try to emulate what Bob started. To inspire, to teach, to be flexible and to have a little fun along the way. We are very passionate about our quality and the relationships we have developed over the years with clients and would not be here today without them.”
Jami works extensively with small businesses and their owners in the areas of tax, planning and business development. “I love looking over financial statements and tax returns, interpreting what they say and finding ways to improve them.” She is a long time member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants.
While not at the office, Jami enjoys working with her 6 horses and trail riding with friends and family, especially in the mountains of Montana. “The views in Montana are spectacular and the occasional moose or elk sighting is a real thrill”. Horses have taught Jami a lot about teamwork and leadership. You need cooperation and trust to get an 1100 lb animal to do something. She used to think her horse could just read her mind and then realized she was always talking to them. The communication style is mostly nonverbal but sometimes they actually do what you say.
Martin Dikkers, CPA
“Sure, I like numbers, but I like people more” - Martin has been trying to break the stereotypes associated with accountants since joining the profession in 2007. His wife and four kids have varying opinions about how well he is doing with this goal, but he is unwilling to change his wardrobe or scale back his excitement about the new Code Sec. 199A deduction just to prove otherwise.
Martin has an undergraduate degree in psychology (B.A., Bethel University) and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas. He also has 10 years of manufacturing/costing experience prior to becoming a CPA. Martin loves the ongoing dialogue with clients that facilitates strategic business and tax planning. Remembering our Founder
Robert M. Foley, 1943-2008
We opened the doors in 1988 under the name of Robert M. Foley, CPA/PFS. Bob’s loyal client base followed him to Stillwater after he left a large CPA firm. His goal was not only to work on his clients’ retirement planning but his own as well. Bob created the foundation for our company’s work-life balance, and built the diverse practice we have today. Bob was an alumni of St. Thomas University.
