Jami Kalseim Flanagan

Jami Kalseim Flanagan, CPA

Managing Partner

jami@cpa1.net

Jami helped found Foley Kalseim & Company Ltd with Bob Foley when they opened the Stillwater office in 1988.  Being a Stillwater native, this was the perfect opportunity for Jami to work in her hometown.  Bob had previously worked at a large CPA firm in the Cities and his loyal client base followed him to Stillwater. Sadly, Bob passed away in 2008, shortly before his planned retirement. “Bob was an incredible business partner.  He was an inspirational leader and teacher to his team and clients. His witty sense of humor kept us and his clients from taking things too seriously.  As a firm we try to emulate what Bob started. To inspire, to teach, to be flexible and to have a little fun along the way.  We are very passionate about our quality and the relationships we have developed over the years with clients and members of the community. We would not be here today without them.”

Jami works extensively with small businesses and their owners in the areas of tax, planning and business development. “I love looking over financial statements and tax returns, interpreting what they say and finding ways to improve them.” She is a long time member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants.

While not at the office, Jami enjoys trail riding with her horses and mules, especially in the mountains of Montana. “The views in Montana are spectacular and the occasional moose or elk sighting is a real thrill”. Horses have taught Jami a lot about teamwork and leadership. You need cooperation and trust to get an 1100 lb animal to do something. She used to think her horse could just read her mind and then realized she was always talking to them. The communication style is mostly nonverbal but sometimes they actually listen to what you say.
